Hi Skinnylatte

I've been totally engrossed reading this - you've got great ideas and they're definitely paying off!

I was wondering if you could let me know what software you use to edit the videos? It's just that this weekend I took 3 hours to record, edit and upload a video you YouTube, only to find that the audio was out of sync - it was a video of me talking so it has to be in sync. I've since deleted it. I've found the error occurs when I import the videos (there's 6) to Windows Movie Maker. It's driving me crazy and I've since spent another 3 hours trying to sort it on two different laptops. Gr.

I'll definitely be purchasing your Fivver gig once I've got some videos up!

Hi alditoharrods,
no problem glad to help. I use Crazytalk animator to animate the photographs and add the sound track, then I import it in to windows moviemaker for a final edit.
Do you had your soundtrack separately or record it all together and then edit in wmm? I'm not sure why it would be out of sinc, what a pain. If I had that problem I'd be asking on a forum somewhere!
Sorry I can't be of more help

How are your april numbers looking? Better than the £600 odd for March?

I think Aprils numbers will be a little better than March but not much, I will work them out soon. I've been pretty unmotivated this month, not many video uplaods or blog posts, I think I peaked in March!

I've sent a message to the fiverr blog regarding my 'story', but have not heard back. Also the birthday card site that was going to do some videos for me have gone cold, so I must follow that up.

I deleted the video of me promoting Viewsbank, it was too embarrassing!

One of my fiverr voice over people have been sending me free gigs, so that has really helped with my 'make all my videos for free' month in April.

I'm quite interested in the rafflecopter that I saw on some-one elses site, a good way to generate some followers.

Talking of followers people keep subscribing to one of my face book pages (https://www.facebook.com/bestbirthdayideas) 32000 of them mostly from India and Iran, females aged 18-24, I've still no idea why!

Next month should be called Motivational May, as I need to find some!

I too have looked that and am yet to figure out how it would work for me in regards to this site

If you have a facebook page - yeah I get it

I am trying to get members for a forum and am yet to see how rafflecopter can drive that let alone drive people here to sign up

Because you can dictate what people must do to enter your competition. So for a forum, you most likely want them to sign up as a member for some entries, post for other entries, follow on twitter and like on facebook.

The key is getting it on a 'comping' forum - you can post your own competitions to loquax so that'll be a help, and it'll probably get posted to the green site for you from there.

For YouTube it could be subscribe, comment on a video (with additional entries for other comments), like on fb and follow on twitter. Or signing up to email newsletters. Anything you want (although I actually don't know the YouTube T&Cs so asking for comments may not be allowed).

Hope that helps.

See I couldn't figure out how to make that the starting block on Rafflecopter

I could see how to setup a comp to make them do facebook/twitter/youtube things

but I couldn't see one that said 'sign up to this forum and post in THIS thread'

Or if there was I couldn't see it

promoting on the green site might be a bit difficult as I am currently banned ;)

Aprils figures were counted and published on May 12th, but I've had such a huge amount on I've just got around to writing a diary post. Youtube brought me £441 and Adsense on my website £104 making a total of £545 a fair bit down on March, and this month looks like it's going to be further down still. But hey there's no point in getting stressed about it! I've detailed mote Youtube stuff in a blog post here http://myyoutubesuccess.blogspot.co.uk/2014/05/not-great-month-as-earnings-were-little.html
Added to this I have a balance of $54 in my Amazon affiliate account since my last payment in February, it's going to take a while to meet the minimum payout of $250. And a balance of $48 in my Shareasale affiliate account.

Luckily I seem to have not been affected by the Panda 4 update this month, to be honest I've been so badly effected in the past it really couldn't get any worse lol.

I got a copyright infringment notice from youtube for a video I purchased off fiverr, oops, they said I could keep it on, but took the monetisation off, so I deleted it. I never manged to get fiverr to pick up my story and my lead for the work with the card site went cold too, so it all seems a bit doom and gloom!

I did stumble across a site called 123 greetings where I can upload my cards, if I get >5000 sends a month then they will pay me $100 a month, I think this is quite achievable so I've uploaded a few cards and will see how I get on. Your cards don't have to be videos they can be flash or just pictures (the sites here if you fancy a go http://www.123greetings.com/) They also do an affiliate program which I must look in to.

My objectives for April were to upload new content for free, I managed 12 videos, all from rehashed old content or via the nice fiverr man who keeps sending me free content in exchange for a link back :) and to be active on FB - I didn't do this every day, but have manged a bit and it's still on a bit of a roll with over 60,000 likes now woohoo. I must be able to take more advantage of this??

I didn't have any objectives for May, and probably not for June either, as still got shedloads on plus a 10 day business trip away, I think 'maintenance' is the word for June.

I hope everyone is doing well, I love reading all the diaries for motivation

10 day sunny business trip aboard?

or

10 day business trip staying in a travelodge and breakfast at the nearest Little Chef?

Those YouTube earnings are still great even if they are going down slightly.

trip to south america woohoo ;D

This 123greetings thing looks quite interesting. To get a payment of $100 I have to have >5000 sends. I only joined 10 days ago with 1 video and I've got over 1000 already and I'm ranked number 18, in what I don't know! FB page is now at 65K likes, haha that's just madness.

I'm still here !!
I've just had a break from video making and online activity. Luckily the pennies still add up even when I'm not doing anything. A summary of the last couple of months is...

Youtube and website adsense combined
May £550 slightly up on April
June £525 down

I've got $106.99 in my Amazon fund, that pays out at $250

The 123Greetings thing turned out a bit oK. Apparently they pay out $10 per 1000 views, I've got 5000 views so far this month, so that should be about $70 or £40. But the best news is that I won top contributor of the month for June, and won $1000 (£580) ;D ;D ;D

I've completely given up all forms of surveys apart from the odd viewsbank, I'd rather poke my eyes out with a blunt stick

Just a few figures of the last few months income:-
Youtube and adsense combined
July £510
August £558.91

So July was down again, but I do think the summer is a little quiet, and September is definitely looking a bit more hopeful so far.

Amazon is $150.04 to date, will be AGES before a payout

I'm still waiting for my July payout for 123greetings, but not sure when this is paid, or how much this is going to be, so the total for this stands at $1000

There hasn't been a great deal of video making over the summer, here's hoping the darker nights will dig up some creativity!

My facebook page has had some awesome interest with over 150,000 likes now, which is a good tool for generating some video views and traffic to my site

it's interesting now that more than 50% of my adsense income from my website is from mobiles or tablets, thank goodness that I was able to easily optimise it for mobile earlier this year.

If its your bithday soon...this is for you...!

Now the summers over, I seem to be returning to video making. Becoming completely focused means no housework or anything else gets done!
Septembers figures are looking pretty good so far, over $1000 by the looks of it, but not confirmed untill 12th October. I had my first payout from 123greetings, $163, which was for 2 months, the minimum payout is $100 and hopefully I'll get a payout from each month going forward now.
They've even offered to pay me per upload for certain categories next month.
I also had an affiliate payout from a greeting card site that I link to from my website, that was about £40 from memory. So money earned from videos and the website in September was around £700.
Here's a new video made from a downloaded from Videohive and edited by myself. Total cost to make this video was £20, but I will use the graphics and sound tracks for other projects

Just absolutely amazing what you have been earning each month on YouTube

This is definitely one of the most interesting threads I've read on The Money Shed.

When you came up with your idea, did you need a lot of initial investment to create the videos? I imagine you now use your profits from previous months?

Well I spent almost the entire weekend horizontal on the sofa with my laptop, made about a dozen videos, and I have 9 more on order. ;D

You're certainly an inspiration for anyone who wants to try and earn with Adsense and going down the You Tube route.

I plan to ramp up my video slideshows for the remainder of 2014 and a big push in 2015 and aim for £100+ per month.

Hi Guys, thanks for reading.
Youtube is a great income, because of course once you've made a marketable video it will earn for ever without you having to do much, well as long as your youtube and adsense account is active, and google plays nicely.
The first video I made cost me nothing as it was myself demonstrating 'how to play happy birthday on the recorder' its very amateur, and embarrasses the hell out my kids, but in 4 years it's earned me £125, I then discovered fiverr.com and had someone make me a video called how to play happy birthday on the piano, that has only earned me £82 over 4 years. I then bought a little recording of a talking cat in 2011 from fiverr, I later found out it was talking tom, this went viral and has earned £4722 to date, quite a return for £3! The talking cat is much less popular now but still accounts for about £20 per month of my income.

So to answer your question Pheebs, the initial outlay was virtually nothing, the investment was time, but I'm prepared now to pay £20-£30 for a decent quality video.

A good way to capitalize on the income is to search from youtube analytics the worth of each video, ie how much revenue per 1000 views. Some videos make much more than others per view. You can then actively promote these videos, on social media, and by overlaying a link at the end of your other videos. The donkey video below has the same amount of views as the talking cat, but generates 3 x more income per month.

As I've probably said before, making the video is not the whole story, you also have to choose good titles, descriptions, keywords, thumbnails, build your audience, interact with other youtubers, promote your videos - facebook, twitter, pinterest, blogging, forums zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz lol. Infact I was thinking of farming out the social media side of it to an expert, because it is boring and time consuming (might be an option for some-one here...???)

I think I could actually make lots more money than I do, but I spend ages being all creative and far to long checking my stats as apposed to analyzing them and coming up with lucrative ideas and techniques.

The king of earning an online income I think is Pat Flynn - check out his earnings!!! http://www.smartpassiveincome.com/my-monthly-income-report-july-and-august-2014/
