Hi there,

I spotted you on Martin Lewis website and managed to find your You Tube channel from the screen shot. Fab idea. It is my partners 50th this year and he loves tigers so I will be definitely directing him to the tiger happy birthday video.
Brilliant idea - simple but effective. Well done you for clearing your debts - I need to do the same so am going to get my thinking cap on.

By for now

Jane :)

Weyhey, thank you peeps for your lovely messages. Well it's been a while since I updated and a mad couple of months

December saw earnings of £701.15 from Youtube and £110.73 from the blog a total of £811.88

and January
£469.84 from Youtube and £150.63 from the blog which makes £620.44

For the whole of last year, the channel and the blog totaled £7419.88. so just reached by target for the year of £7200, I note that in January I set my self a target for 2015 of a 25% increase, so £9000 hmmmmm ::)

I haven't made any decent videos recently, I really must get to do this, I've a few ideas, I was watching a program on cute animals a few days ago, and think this is the way to go, make them cute with big eyes!

The article on the green site came completely out of the blue, they just messaged me via the site and asked if I was still doing it, then asked if I would do a telephone interview, and away it went, it has caused a slight upward blip in my traffic, which I'm pleased with, but not a huge impact, but it has now tipped me over 20000 subs :D

Re my other business, my wardrobe site, I have just purchased another website from one of my competitors who has had enough and contacted me to see if I wanted it, (www.inspiredslidingdoors.co.uk), only now I need to spend about £3k upgrading it, and it's not getting much traffic either, so feeling a bit 'uninspired' about it at the moment!
Oh well, here's my latest video, I hope you like it!

Good evening, here's small update for February's earnings.

Total £709.80
Youtube £521.35
Adsense for website £118.12
123 Greetings £70.33

The article on the green site caused a little upward blip in my youtube views lasting a few days, but then it returned to normal levels. It doesn't seem to matter how many videos I upload, the earnings never seem to go up proportionally. I have only uploaded 3 this year, so I'd better get going!

A week to go until my final debt payment, it's been a long and interesting road :)

I hope every-one else is doing well

Happy spring x

Ooops it is actually a whole 2 months since my last diary entry, although I do pop in every now and again to see what's new. My biggest barrier at the moment is time and organisation. I've been covering a vacancy at work as well as my own job for the last few months, only that vacancy is based in the midlands so I've been away from home an awful lot.
Also I've developed an interest in long distance cycling which by it's very nature is rather time consuming!!
I have only loaded 7 videos this year which is poor, and earnings seem to be on a decrease #mustdobetter

Here's an earnings update

March
Total £790.94
Youtube £577.91
Adsense for website £138.88
123 Greetings £74.15

April
Total £668.58
Youtube £477.38
Adsense for website £113.24
123 Greetings £77.96

Other news is that my green site diary was featured in the 10 year newsletter, however I don't think that made a jot of difference to any traffic to my sites or YT channel.
Some-one from Digg.com contacted me for an interview, which I've done but I've not seen if it's been published yet. I think there's a massive opportunity in actively looking for some PR opportunities, but again it's time, and inclination!

Ooo and I nearly forgot, I sold an ebook, the first one this year, netted 0.39p, haha, that venture was one of my failures it seems lol

I hope you're all having a profitable month, there's some good diary stuff going on x

You sound like you have a lot on your plate! Those (almost passive) earnings are still great even though you've only done 7 videos! All my earnings are non passive but that's alright, I think it'd take me far too long to build up passive earnings XD

2 months exactly since my last post, I aim to get on monthy really.

I haven't done much video making recently, I've totaled 16 so far this year, which is probably about 16 hours work :-\

May
Total £694.43
Youtube £517.98
Adsense for website £113.96
123 Greetings £62.49

June
Total £756.31
Youtube £652.74
Adsense for website £103.57
123 Greetings - I didn't reach the $100 payout so this will roll over to July

Half way through the year and I make that to be £4373.75, if the second half is the same then this is just £252 behind my target of £9000, which actually surprises me, I thought I would be a long way off. This just highlights how flipping well I could do if I applied some focus.

Since I started writing this post I put everything in a spread sheet and made a little chart!! I don't know how to insert if here, but it does show me that Youtube is up over all, however the website and 123 greetings is on a downward slide, so I need to put some work into there too.

123 greeting run some pretty good competitions, where you can earn extra cash on top of the regular income, so I'm going to work hard on those this next couple of weeks and get my video count up. I would like to think I can do 1 a week, making 52 per year minimum.

Discovery of the talking tom app has meant that I've been doing some of my own voice overs. I'm rubbish at impressions, but this app changes your voice to something quite cute. Usually I get the voice overs from fiverr.com, which mostly I get free. Somewhere, don't know where I must have published a 'refer a friend' link, which is giving me about $10 of free fiverr juice a month ;D

I want to go to Costa Rica next year, and I need to find additional income if that's going to happen. I'm also moving and I need a new bathroom, kitchen and patio when I get moved, so every penny is needed.

Thank you for reading I will leave you with this one for now....

How do you get the confidence to post of youtube and how long have you been doing it for? I would probably get too awkward and get embarrased x

Hi, I think I started about 5 years ago. Crikey no I don't post videos of my self, you're right that would be AWKWARD! Actually I think there is one, but it's well hidden, and I never watch it!

July
Total £499.75
Youtube £397.01
Adsense for website £102.47
123 Greetings - I didn't reach the $100 payout so this will roll over again
A big dip in youtube earnings this month

August
Total £683.89
Youtube £396.10 still down :-[
Adsense for website £106.08
Adsense for search £1.18
123 Greetings - £183.53

September
Total £701.94
Youtube £522.33 Getting better ;)
Adsense for website £94.88 down ???
Adsense for search £2.02
123 Greetings - £82.71

If I carry on like this then I'm going to be £654 behind my target for the year.

My main issue, and I know this, it's just harder to rectify it than identify, and that is motivation. I need a routine for creating and uploading videos. Plus I need to be exploring more revenue streams.

I have for a while, been toying with hiring a social media manager, and after several weeks of searching through upwork.com, and interviewing various randoms over skype (including some guy from Bangledesh who wanted to know if I had a husband  ) I hired this weekend, and am delighted to say it's actually some-one from this forum. Not sure whether they want to be named, as I will be posting the earnings on here as an outgoing.

I'm going to concentrate their efforts on the 123greetings revenue, as the £ per 1000 view is higher than youtube, so hopefully the returns will be greater

I spent some time in a car with a good new friend recently, who introduced me to podcasts, why have I never tried these before, a mine of information, and completely free!! I travel a lot with work so I've made the most of my time listening to the likes of Pat Flynn and Tim Ferris, look them up they're pretty inspirational guys when it comes to making money on line. I'm reading Tims book right now called the 4 Hour Work week, interesting read so far. I really really really wish I could maintain a blog, and post weekly, I could promote all this stuff through affiliate links. Oh why can't I be more disciplined.... ::)

The great thing you have over most folk is excellent and solid YT earnings. Most people would love to have £400 - £500pm earning from their videos. I think you should try and concentrate more on that area, as it works the best for you. I have a few hundred YT product review slideshows and I earn about £60pm and growing, so I've got a long way to go to reach your kind of figures

Thank you for the comments ;D

This is the year I'm going to really work on all my business instead of being happy with a passive type income. Update for earnings

October
Total £650.27
Youtube £474.35 Down again
Adsense for website £91.14 down again
Adsense for search £0.56
123 Greetings - £84.22 up a little

November
Total £716.01 Up
Youtube £506.17 Up
Adsense for website £89.82 down again
Adsense for search £0.28
123 Greetings - £119.74

It's still a decent income, but could be so much more. I am on a mission to pay off my mortgage in 10 years, so all the above needs to increase. I won't meet this years target, but should beat last years. Will update next month with the final figures.

123 greetings have started paying out for all card sends, not just USA and Canada as previously, so that has seen a decent uptake in earnings. December Youtube earnings shot up ndecember, but have now dropped off again, seeasonal I guess.

I have never returned to matched betting, I made easy money with all the intitial offers, then it all seemed like too much hard work for small returns, maybe I should look at it again.

Well the numbers are in and complete for 2015

December
Total £895.80 Up
Youtube £668.14 Up
Adsense for website £75.91 down again
Adsense for search £0.75
123 Greetings - £151

Total 2015
Total £8521.40
Youtube £6181.30
Adsense for website £1298.70
Adsense for search £5.05
123 Greetings - £1036.35

My target was £9k, so I missed it by a few £100. In January 2015 I wrote this
For the whole of last year, the channel and the blog totaled £7419.88. so just reached by target for the year of £7200, I note that in January I set my self a target for 2015 of a 25% increase, so £9000 hmmmmm ::)

I find it pays to have a target and to write it down.

In the last part of last year I spent £470 on social media promotion via a virtual assistant, it has certainly increased activity on social media, and my youtube views have increaased by 20%, however the earnings do not increase by the same %. In 2012 I was making £20 a day from youtube, I've uploaded loads more videos since and make less than that now. It's still worth it, but the competition is harder and rewards less.

123greetings is a nice earner, although I have to remember to upload something every month. This week I made an exciting discovery. 4 years ago I uploaded my cat video on to a site called daily motion, forgot about it, last year I uploaded a couple for videos, and then forgot about it intil last weekend. When I logged on I was astounded to find that they had started an advert revenue sharing program, and automatically enrolled me, and $$ had been tricklig into my account since last march. I wasn't sure if it was kosha, but I requested a withdrawal and yesterday £950 landed in my account ;D There's a further $188 from January still to be paid, and feb so far is up to $88. I've been uploading my video library all week, still got another 100 or so to go!
Here is is so far http://www.dailymotion.com/user/BestBirthdayIdeas

I've decided I need some decent branding as I use something different on everything, youtube/facebook/website/twitter etc. so some of the daily motion money is being spent on a new logo design, not cheap, but it's run as a contest. Designers submit their ideas and I get to choose the best, there's been 11 submissions so far and 2 I like (here's my shameless affiliate link for design crowd!)... http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=jcqLVdc*cfs&offerid=343944.18&type=3&subid=0

SO, £10k this year, and carry on researching opportunities like 123greetings and daily motion
.

I'd love to hear from you if you're doing videos too...

DOH!
laid in bed this morning I just realised that if you add £8521.40 and last years daily motion income £950.58 that make £9471.98 and therefore I did achieve the 2015 target of £9k which was a 25% increase on 2014.

So, following on from that I'm going to change this years target to last years income +25% which makes 2016 worth £11839
