Would cancelling a long-term credit card affect my score?

I've held a credit card for around 10 years. The brand is a very entry-level provider with a low limit (Vanquis). From hearsay in my bank, it was brought to my attention that cancelling the card would increase my score. Looking online, rumour has it would decrease. It has a tiny £100 limit, so it's not exactly much use either way! My score is already in good standing. Would cancelling it would affect it? Thanks for any wisdom anyone can share.

I would keep it, I think having more credit increases your score.
