Thanks everyone - can't believe she is mine!

In true NHS style I should be turfed home today, despite problems in the theatre and losin 1.5 litres of blood. I can't wait to get back to my own bed / sofa / food and start my new life!

As I'm a financial blogger I'm having a go at the ultimate money saving... Breast feeding... Hence the lateness of this post!

Really appreciate all the warm wishes and anticipating being back to chatting on the shed, at least, in the next few days but maybe longer as I'm a zombie at the moment!

Hi Katy, I was about to mention breastfeeding in my congratulation post but I thought it would sound patronizing. Please do persevere with breastfeeding because it will make your life easier in the long term. I breastfed my son till he was 2.5 and it was my lifesaver in terms of pacifying him and having decent night sleep and remaining sane. I co slept with him (which I know is not really recommended) but it is very normal for breastfeeding mums. Welcome to your new life of mum - it is a roller-coaster!

My wife breastfed our daughter until she was 1.5, but only because our daughter stopped wanting to feed that way. The first few weeks were very hard, and it took a while for her to get used to feeding in public, but by the end she was actually really sad that she wasn't feeding any more. It is definitely worth persevering if you can (and it saves a fortune on formula which helps!)

Hi everyone :)

Thank you again for all the kind words and warm wishes!

We are doing well. I've had a little problem with my wound but nothing too bad. Daisy has jaundice, which is normal as she only weighed the same as a 35 week old baby where she stopped growing. She is getting over it now, with lots of feeding, which is also going well!

My husband has another 2.5 weeks off work, which is fab, and we are doing really well so far with the broken sleep and cluster feeding etc. I'm prepared for it to be hard, but Daisy is really happy and content (so far). Sure this will change as she gets bigger and stronger, but taking advantage of the quiet hours at the moment!

Hope everyone is good and looking forward to getting a little bit of normality again with myself and feeling better etc.
