Just starting this so I have started the month off better than April... By remembering to do something on time :D

I hope everyone has nice weather like we do. Off out for a walk/to buy salad stuff (and chocolate no doubt).

Happy May everyone - hope everyone has a GREAT month. Remember if you want a moneymaking boost then you can join the May moneymaking challenge run by the lovely [member=277]Chammy[/member] : http://www.themoneyshed.co.uk/index.php?topic=6004.0

Two days to go and I still am totally uninspired by the London Mayoral Candidates! Will vote but for who? Lol, may have to toss a coin in the polling booth!

Enjoyed the day as much as you can when you are working for 8 hours of it but man do I need something Salad based for tea tonight!!!

Come to mine. I'll cook you something tasty, wholesome and that doesn't contain half a dead cow covered in cheese ;)

I think we have stir-fry tonight aka a hot salad ;D

well surprisingly I managed to oversleep today all the way through to 10am lol

Can't believe how good the weather is today! Makes me miss living in Norfolk where you could drive to the beach in 20mins after work! In Leeds it's a total chore to get to the coast and requires a days planning near enough!!!

I feel as if I've lost about 3 weeks, what with a trip up to Scotland, my internet dying and then my flashy new PC crashed just after I'd transferred all my data across to it

Luckily I'd got backups for everything but it's now the 10th of the month and I'm only just getting back to doing some work.

On the positive side, my mother-in-law seems to be settling into her care home which was the reason for the trip up to Scotland.

Hi [member=871]Twiggy[/member] That sounds an awful lot of money to me just to join! I worry a bit about borrowmydoggie just because I wonder if there are a lot of people on there that might not realise how much owning a pet is involved. I'm sure there are some very nice people on there tho! There are other sites that you don't pay to join, just for lodging your pet ie: Barking Mad. Whereabouts do you live? It might be worth ringing your local dog warden and see if they know anyone? In my area, our dog warden is part of our local Strays charity and by its nature there are a lot of pet sitters, dog walkers attached to that. If not, a local dog charity may know of someone.

Thanks [member=1169]bordercolliefan[/member]

Yes I have already gone off the idea of the borrowmydoggy site. I live in West Lothian, Scotland.

I'm going to ask at the local vets, and also check out the local kennels, which look nice and since it is only for one night perhaps worth a try. (I am more worried than the dog obvs!)

Twiggy if there's still time before you leave, ask on Facebook - either your friends or a local page. If you don't know the person who offers, take the dog to visit them to see how they get on.

I offered to do the same when I saw one woman asking. Met the dog, then had it for a weekend and then over a month while they went travelling.

I'd offer but a wee bit too far from you :(

When you've just spent an hour listening to various people who don't understand each other asking questions about breakfasts on Spare5, and are brewing a headache from the strain, and you FINALLY get the message that you've done all of your work. Then 5 minutes later you get an email saying congratulations, you passed our random quality control check and we've opened up 100 more for you - should that be posted in the what has made you smile thread, or the what has p*ssed you off thread? I really can't decide ;)

This month has been the month of change for me so far

I've changed the gym I am a member of so one that is a few mins from work so I can go to classes before work and at lunch time

I've bought a bike through the cycle2work scheme which is something I have been wanting to do for ages and finally taken the plunge. No more £65 a month just to get to work on the bus for me!

Can't handle any more change than this until June now lol

Hi all!! I've got a spare(ok not spare i'm procrastinating as usual) few minutes so decided to have a browse of MS and saw this thread... just read about your changes for the month Jon, I have a change to... I'm going prescatarian (sp) for 30 days!! I started on Monday and it's been ok, I have had to cook separate bits for myself and I haven't been to shops to get fish, so I've had veggie meals mostly. The meat dishes are very tempting. I stopped eating dairy the past few months so thinking up meal ideas is a challenge.
