The holiday season is approaching and probably many of us will need to book a hotel. I am NO expert in money savings and deals but just wanted to share my experience with hotel bookings. Back in February and today I had to book hotels. I run a search through Trivago and then went to Kayak. I could not deal with Kayak, it was just too complicated. Trivago, however, did not gave me the cheapest price. For example the hotel I was interested in was £ 96 at Trivago (an Expedia offer), then I went to hotels.com and the price was £ 91. I had similar experience back in February when hotels.com was the cheapest again. Then, I logged into swagbucks and did the hotels.com booking trough them. Currently they give 6SB for £ 1 pound. Back in February it was something crazy like 14SB for 1 £. I booked 2 nights £ 91.00 which earned me £ 5 from Swagbucks and £ 10 savings due to cheaper offer - altogether £ 15.00. I know it is not a fortune but still something to consider when you book hotels.

Maybe others have even more cheeky tips for hotels bookings. Please share.

Great idea to check multiple sites. Hotels.com has 10%+ cashback on TopCashBack, so it is definitely worth looking there for cashback rather than going through Swagbucks. With hotels.com, and some other sites, you actually get more cashback if you book through your mobile than on your laptop/computer, so that is another great way to save some money :)

Don't forget to delete your browser history ... That way it tricks the sites and gives you the lower prices

I booked a cheap room through travelodge early bird offers and used quidco to get cash back st 10% so £32 for the room with £3.20 cash back so only cost £28.80 for a family room. It's a wedding right between Christmas and new year so have to be as thrifty as possible. :)

Booking.com tend to find the cheaper hotels. Also second groupon, you can get some great deals if you get there in time!

Delete your history, so it can't track your cookies and hike up the prices.
