Ohh great thanks [member=1]Jon[/member], that is good to know!

I was also wondering what happens if the retailer or whoever suspects you are a mystery shopper? What are the implications?

Streetspotr hasn't had any new tasks in quite a time.. There was loads within the m25 all been nabbed I guess... All the apps are worth having and just do a quick check daily or more (takes 10 secs) it gets tedious waiting and waiting but when they go live you're right on top of it... as for getting caught. .. some jobs you get an LOA (letter of authority) to show to a staff member... This can make trickier tasks a lot easier.. but can also get a refusal to let you do it (especially in smaller shops)... try look inconspicuous. .. tip... stick headphones in your phone and kid on you are talking to someone.. It makes holding a phone at photo taking angle look more natural. .. if staff/security do pull you u0 just fess up...even flatter the security guard by saying they are clearly good at their job to catch you out lol... tbh I have never yet been collared on a job... have had a few wee shops refuse me when I am upfront. .. if in doubt accept a job ..go in incognito and suss it out ..if you don't feel comfortable to complete just cancel the task and give up

Anyone done the Lucozade pub spots on Streetspotr? I assume you need a receipt for reimbursement, but, would it get accepted if it had other things on it? (For example.. lucozade for me and a wine for the wife, i get a pen and score out the wine) Would seem a bit conspicuous ordering 2 drinks and only getting receipt for one..

I have yet to actually undertake the task but am planning to - is it a troublesome task, do you have to answer a lot of questions and take photos etc?

Its really simple... I did get round to it today, you answer "Yes you would buy Lucozade" then take a pic of outside of pub, go in order a Lucozade (Mine did not sell it so got something else..... will still pay out) Asks for a pic of the drink, pic of the receipt and answer a survey question... When would you consider buying Lucozade.... type thing, then submit... Sadly what isn't telling you in the app it appears to be one spot per spotr..... all the others disappear from the app once you do one... still an easy tenner though

Did you get questioned at all? I usually find I feel to awkward/nervous doing these things.

Just did a bk one... seems pretty straightforward...all about promo posters

Also interested how you did this, did you just show the letter of authority or did you do it undercover?

Never knew there was an LOA lol... undercover in a busy MWSA store...very easy to look inconspicuous...only hard bit was photographing the menu as it's on a wall side on to tills with plastic cover so lots of reflections (explained this on the task) I found none of the posters asked for so ended up with about 6 shots of the same view lol... see if it gets accepted before trying more

[member=3699]Mountainways[/member] I have been lucky to never been "caught" once when doing an incognito task... and I do a LOT of tasks... I was like that when I first started (which turns out was a year ago today!!) Here is some tips to help... 1.. make absolutely certain your flash is off... turn the phone volume down or off (most phones do that wee shutter release noise) if you still feel nervy... put the phones wee headphones in and have an imaginary conversation... you may feel like a plank... but only you knows your talking to no one.... and doing this makes holding phone up at chest height to take pics look more natural... you see loads of people do actually have phone conversations this way so it's quite normal and no one will bat an eyelid... tbh... shop staff are too busy to notice one person amongst all the shoppers doing a mystery shop... lastly.. since this job has an LOA ..print it out and show to shop staff... most are fine with that and let you carry on...but ...it's more fun being sneaky lol

I ate a Burger King today.. when I finished, I left! Far too many photos on this job.. just at glance most of them seem to be in the BK I was in. Too many people and too much hassle to get a managers attention with a LOA on my mobile. I would love to read about jobs being accepted though.. might try early in the morning when it's less busy and I say that because they don't want any people in the photos.

Thanks [member=2821]mabozza[/member], might give this a try- it seems easier than a supermarket as everyone in Burger King has their phones out!

No problem... take your time... my first one got rejected... silly mistake on my part...for a tenner you can expect them to be picky.

Grrrr, just travelled to my nearest BK, the spot on the app has been there for days, and was there right till the second I went to accept it, then it said someone else had accepted it, find this slightly hard to believe as there was no one there but me, anyone else had this issue or is it just that someone was like 30 seconds quicker than me?

I've done well with the burger king jobs. £50 from those coming my way soon when I cash out. I do think they want too many photos though, and what was especially silly, if there wasn't a specific poster present you still had to take overview photos to show it wasn't there, even though you had already taken pictures of everything a dozen times already.

Increasingly these sorts of jobs are wanting too many photos and they just can't be done as a discrete mystery shop unless you have the latest spying technology from MI5. Which I don't.
