Just cashed out on PA to find they're now charging for cashouts over £20 :( 2.9% plus 20p.

They're recommending using Circle.com instead so no fees. Never heard of them before - worth signing up for?

I have used circle once but it didn't seem too easy. You upload your payment to it and then download it into your bank account. It didn't charge, but it's a bit of a faff - or so it seemed to me. I uploaded my payment and then couldn't work out how to find it to download it to my bank. Got there eventually and it went through ok. I dare say I'd work it out and it would be fine after a few goes, but then I am *clears throat* 'mature' and blonde, so it has to be simple, or I'm lost ;)

I've downloaded the circle app, for the same reason! PayPal fees have never bothered me, but when you see how much they take... Wow!
I'm not sure how I feel about a payment app giving me £5 if I refer people, it seems a bit.... Tacky, am I really trusting them with bank details. Oh, my referral too if anyone wants it https://www.circle.com/invite/ITH9BY

Oh that is a shame.
So really you may as well just cash out at £5 seeing as there isn't any benefit now as there is a PayPal fee now at £20.00
Never heard of Circle.com.
It could be a good alternative if others have used it and have no problems.

Just received my cashout - was £21.45 and received £20.63. There is still a small benefit to waiting with all those 20p's that would be added on to each cashout in addition to the percentage. I think I'll end up looking into Circle to save all those 78p's per £20 cashout though.

That is good to know.
Maybe Circle will be worth a try at least to see if it is any good. As long as it is secure enough if you are having to put in bank details etc. That is the only thing I would be concerned about.

I'm also thinking of using Circle; I've signed up but haven't actually given my bank details or requested the Prolific payment yet. Definitely seems disappointing to see hard earned pennies get used up on Paypal fees, but at the same time I'd agree with what's been said about being unsure of Circle and how much faff it may be. It should be secure (reported on sites such as Forbes here https://www.forbes.com/sites/laurashin/2016/04/06/circle-launches-its-social-payment-service-in-the-uk-partners-with-barclays/#77a446691f96
You should be able to use it on a web browser on your laptop, not just as an app, and it looks like you can receive the money there and send it to your bank account for free fairly easily. Will try to give this a go a little later :)

Just read a few bad reviews on the IOS App Store about people having trouble with Circle.com. Money had been taken from people's bank account without permission then they were having trouble getting it back.
Could be just one or two glitches that have now been sorted but still I would be a bit careful and not link it to a main bank account or card just to be on the safe side.

A bit annoyed with this change to be fair. I don't want to own another financial product. I never heard of Circle and while it can has its' flaws, Paypal at least gives you a bit of a peace of mind. @ProlificAc , care to tell us why the sudden change?

You can still use Paypal but just have to pay for it with fees.

I'll be sticking to using Paypal and just paying the fee. Not the end of the World and because I earn over the threshold it is an expense I can record down. Annoying but not much that can be done. They are still a great paying website after all!

Sorry for those that don't have the luxury of declaring expenses due to lower income :(

Obviously now the only benefit of waiting until £20 is a saving of 20p, or 60p, if you cash out every £5. Which is better than nothing I suppose.

My account with Prolific has suddenly come under review and I'm not sure why. I had done some surveys, went through to cash out £21 and a day later my account is under review. I've done all the verification and I haven't done anything against the rules. Has anyone had this happen to them?

I had this once @steph88. I contacted them and they confirmed it was a mistake and sorted it out pretty quickly.

I hadn't read the negatives, though I'd be weary of any online money service, my own bank included, so always keep an eye on accounts.
I signed up to Circle on Saturday, requested my Prolific payment.. Payment reached circle on Monday morning, I requested it to be moved to my bank account..It's only Wednesday but it's in there already! Must admit I'm pleasantly surprised at how quick it is, that there's no fee, and how easy it was to use. I did use the desktop version on my laptop so I can't comment on the mobile version (I don't use any mobile banking/money apps or sites as I don't feel safe using them!) So for me it gets a thumbs up from initial use!

Thanks for letting us know Caz! I think I'm going to let my pot build up for next few months until my maternity leave starts and see how much I'd lose in fees but probably end up switching to Circle.

I'm very well aware. I still expect them to communicate this clearly via email to users and give them to withdraw before the change comes into effect in case they do not want to use another method and had built up their balance.

I agree there should have been an e-mail sent out to let people know about the change rather than just letting people find out when they go to withdraw their earnings.
